SCR system learning
AdBlue reset
What it does
- Reinitializes and relearns the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system
- Calibrates AdBlue / DEF dosing control
- Ensures correct NOx reduction efficiency
When it is required
- After replacing SCR-related components:
- NOx sensors
- DEF injector
- SCR catalyst
- DEF pump or control unit
- After repairing the DEF system
- After resolving SCR-related fault codes
Conditions that must be met
- Correct DEF fluid level and quality
- No active SCR or NOx sensor fault codes
- Engine at operating temperature (if required)
- Stable battery voltage
- Vehicle in a ventilated area
What happens during learning
- ECU verifies:
- DEF pressure
- Injector operation
- NOx sensor signals
- Learns:
- Dosing quantities
- System response time
- Conversion efficiency
- Stores updated SCR adaptation values
If learning is not performed
- AdBlue warnings may remain active
- Incorrect DEF dosing
- Increased NOx emissions
- Possible engine power limitation or no-start countdown
After learning
- Check SCR live data values
- Clear remaining SCR warnings
- Perform a short road test
- Confirm normal SCR operation
