Accelerator Pedal Sensor Module Replacement
What it does
- Initializes and adapts the Accelerator Pedal Sensor (APS) module
- Ensures correct pedal position signal to the ECU
- Restores proper throttle response
When it is required
- After replacing the accelerator pedal or APS module
- After repairing APS wiring or connectors
- When pedal position fault codes are present
- When throttle response is inconsistent
Conditions that must be met
- New APS module properly installed
- No active APS or throttle-related fault codes
- Ignition ON, engine OFF
- Accelerator pedal fully released
- Stable battery voltage
What happens during initialization
- ECU learns:
- Minimum pedal position
- Maximum pedal position
- Signal linearity
- Pedal position reference values are stored
If initialization is not performed
- Poor or delayed throttle response
- Engine may enter limp mode
- Accelerator pedal fault codes may remain
After replacement
- Verify smooth pedal response in live data
- Perform a short test drive
- Confirm no APS-related warning lights remain
