What it does
- Calibrates front camera used for:
- Lane Keeping Assist
- Traffic Sign Recognition
- Collision Prevention Assist
- Aligns camera optical axis with vehicle centerline
- Ensures correct object and lane detection
When it is required
- After windshield replacement
- After front camera replacement
- After front-end collision repair
- After wheel alignment or suspension changes
Conditions that must be met
- Vehicle on level ground
- Calibration target correctly positioned
- Camera clean and unobstructed
- No active camera or ADAS fault codes
- Ignition ON, engine OFF
- Stable battery voltage
What happens during calibration
- Camera measures calibration target
- Optical alignment and angle offsets are calculated
- New reference values are stored for:
- Lane detection
- Distance measurement
- Object recognition
If calibration is not performed
- Lane assist may not work correctly
- False or missing collision warnings
- Reduced ADAS performance
- Camera fault messages may appear
After calibration
- Verify camera status in diagnostics
- Perform a test drive
- Confirm ADAS functions operate correctly
- Ensure no camera warnings remain
