Mercedes Charging Of Suspension Fluid Reservoir
Supported coding features by StarCOM diagnostic tool https://www.obdtester.com/starcom
Suspension Fluid Reservoir Charging
What it does
- Fills and pressurizes the hydraulic suspension fluid reservoir
- Prepares the system for proper ride height and suspension operation
- Ensures correct functioning of AIRMATIC / Active Body Control (ABC) systems
When it is required
- After replacing or servicing the suspension fluid reservoir
- After hydraulic system repairs
- After fluid changes
- When suspension system warning lights appear
Conditions that must be met
- All hydraulic lines connected and leak-free
- Reservoir installed correctly
- Ignition ON, engine OFF (or as instructed)
- Stable battery voltage
- No active suspension fault codes
What happens during the procedure
- ECU commands hydraulic pump to fill reservoir
- Pressure and fluid levels monitored
- System stores baseline pressure for:
- Ride height control
- Damping adjustment
- Load leveling
If procedure is not performed
- Suspension may not reach correct ride height
- Warning lights remain active
- Uneven damping or abnormal ride quality
- Risk of hydraulic system damage
After charging
- Verify fluid level and pressure in diagnostics
- Check suspension operation at rest
- Perform a short test drive
- Confirm no suspension warnings remain
