What it does
- Performs basic adaptation of the automatic gearbox
- Resets and relearns clutch and shift parameters
- Ensures smooth and correct gear changes
When it is required
- After transmission repair or overhaul
- After gearbox control unit replacement
- After oil and filter change (on certain models)
- When shifting is harsh, delayed, or irregular
Conditions that must be met
- Transmission oil at specified temperature
- Vehicle stationary
- Parking brake applied
- Ignition ON, engine running (as instructed)
- Stable battery voltage
- No active critical transmission fault codes
What happens during adjustment
- Gearbox performs controlled clutch engagements
- Shift pressures and timing are learned
- Adaptation values are stored for:
- Gear changes
- Clutch control
- Torque management
If adjustment is not performed
- Rough or delayed shifting
- Increased wear of clutches
- Transmission fault codes may appear
- Reduced driving comfort
After adjustment
- Perform test drive following adaptation guidelines
- Monitor shift quality in live data
- Confirm no gearbox warning messages remain
