Mercedes Power Window Denormalization
Supported coding features by StarCOM diagnostic tool https://www.obdtester.com/starcom
What it does
- Clears learned end positions of the power windows
- Removes stored anti-pinch and position reference values
- Prepares the window system for re-normalization
When it is required
- Before power window normalization
- After window motor or regulator replacement
- After control unit replacement
- When window movement is incorrect or blocked
- Following battery disconnection with incorrect window behavior
Conditions that must be met
- Vehicle stationary
- Ignition ON
- Windows unobstructed
- Stable battery voltage
- Diagnostic tool connected
What happens during denormalization
- Stored window end positions are erased
- Anti-pinch reference values are reset
- Control unit enters learning-ready state
If denormalization is not performed
- Normalization may fail
- Anti-pinch may not function correctly
- Window may stop or reverse unexpectedly
- Fault codes may remain active
After denormalization
- Perform power window normalization
- Verify smooth up/down operation
- Test anti-pinch function
- Clear any remaining fault codes
