Tire Pressure Loss Warning Reactivation
What it does
- Reactivates the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) warning function
- Resets sensor communication and system monitoring
- Ensures correct alerting in case of tire pressure loss
When it is required
- After tire replacement or rotation
- After TPMS sensor replacement
- After control unit replacement
- When warning lights remain inactive or are reset
Conditions that must be met
- Vehicle stationary on level ground
- Tires inflated to recommended pressures
- Ignition ON
- Stable battery voltage
- No active TPMS fault codes
What happens during reactivation
- TPMS sensors are reinitialized
- Sensor IDs and positions may be verified or relearned
- System stores baseline pressure values for monitoring
- Warning function is enabled
If procedure is not performed
- TPMS may not detect pressure loss
- Warning lights may remain inactive
- Reduced safety and potential tire damage
- Fault codes may remain
After reactivation
- Verify all tires report correct pressure in diagnostics
- Check TPMS warning light behavior
- Perform a short test drive
- Confirm system alerts correctly in case of pressure loss
