What it does
- Learns the reference (zero) level for vehicle ride height sensors
- Ensures correct operation of:
- Air suspension system
- Headlamp leveling
- Adaptive suspension and stability functions
- Stores baseline sensor values for accurate leveling and adjustments
When it is required
- After replacing height sensors or air suspension components
- After suspension control unit replacement
- After significant load changes or chassis modifications
- When ride height or leveling faults are present
Conditions that must be met
- Vehicle stationary on level ground
- Ignition ON, engine OFF (or as instructed)
- All wheels on flat surface
- Stable battery voltage
- No active critical suspension fault codes
What happens during learning
- Sensors measure current ride height
- Zero or baseline levels stored in control unit
- Adaptive suspension and headlamp leveling systems recalibrated
If learning is not performed
- Incorrect suspension leveling
- Headlamp aim may be inaccurate
- Fault codes or warning lights may remain
- Reduced vehicle stability and ride comfort
After learning
- Verify ride height sensor values in live data
- Test suspension and leveling systems
- Confirm proper headlamp aim and adaptive functions
- Clear any related fault codes
