- Ensures correct dosing and monitoring of exhaust fluid
- Synchronizes new unit with vehicle ECU and emissions system
When it is required
- After additive control unit failure
- After maintenance or repair of the dosing system
- After ECU replacement affecting additive system
- When fault codes related to additive dosing appear
Conditions that must be met
- Vehicle stationary
- Ignition ON
- Stable battery voltage
- Additive tank filled or sufficient level
- Diagnostic tool connected and authorized
What happens during replacement
- Old unit is disconnected and removed
- New unit installed and electrical connections verified
- ECU communicates with new unit to store calibration and serial numbers
- Additive system performs self-checks and prepares for dosing
If replacement is not performed

- Exhaust emissions may exceed limits
- Fault codes or warning lights may remain
- Vehicle may enter limp mode on emission system faults
After replacement
- Verify additive system communication in live data
- Check dosing functionality
- Confirm no warning lights or fault codes
- Reset additive service indicators if required
