Adaptive Cruise Control Teaching
What it does
- Teaches and calibrates the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system
- Aligns radar sensor and stores reference values
- Ensures correct distance control and speed regulation
When it is required
- After ACC radar sensor replacement
- After front bumper or radar bracket replacement
- After collision or body repair affecting sensor alignment
- When ACC warning messages or faults are present
Conditions that must be met
- Vehicle stationary
- Ignition ON
- Stable battery voltage
- Diagnostic tool connected
- Calibration targets or defined environment (per manufacturer procedure)
What happens during teaching
- Radar sensor alignment is checked and calibrated
- Reference values for distance and speed control are stored
- ACC control unit validates sensor position and function
- System readiness is confirmed
If teaching is not performed
- ACC may not activate
- Incorrect distance control
- Warning messages or fault codes may remain
- Reduced driver assistance functionality
After teaching
- Verify ACC status in live data
- Test ACC operation during road test
- Confirm no warning messages are displayed
- Check related driver assistance systems
