Teach LIN addresses after LIN component replacement. After changing any HVAC LIN servomotors, run procedure to teach start-stop positions.
Air Conditioning LIN Address Teaching
What it does
- Teaches and assigns LIN bus addresses to air conditioning components
- Synchronizes newly replaced LIN-controlled actuators or modules
- Ensures correct communication within the HVAC system
When it is required
- After replacement of LIN-controlled AC components
- After HVAC control unit replacement
- When communication faults or HVAC malfunction occur
- After electrical repairs affecting LIN bus
Conditions that must be met
- Ignition ON
- Vehicle stationary
- Stable battery voltage
- Diagnostic tool connected
- No active LIN bus short circuits
What happens during teaching
- HVAC control unit scans connected LIN components
- New components are assigned correct LIN addresses
- Communication parameters are stored
- System functionality is verified
If teaching is not performed
- AC functions may not operate correctly
- Actuators may not respond or behave unpredictably
- Fault codes related to LIN communication may remain
After teaching
- Test all HVAC functions
- Verify actuator operation via live data
- Clear fault codes
- Confirm stable LIN communication
