What it does
- Codes and programs the door control module (DCM)
- Synchronizes door locks, windows, mirrors, and interior functions
- Ensures proper communication with vehicle network (CAN/LIN)
When it is required
- After door module replacement
- After vehicle body repairs affecting door wiring
- When new features are added or updated
- When door-related fault codes are present
Conditions that must be met
- Vehicle stationary
- Ignition ON
- Stable battery voltage
- All doors closed
- Diagnostic tool connected
What happens during coding
- DCM is assigned correct configuration parameters
- Communication with body control unit and other modules verified
- Functions such as lock/unlock, window operation, and mirror control are synchronized
- Fault codes cleared and system readiness confirmed
If coding is not performed
- Doors, locks, or windows may not operate correctly
- Features may be disabled or inconsistent
- Fault codes may remain
- Warning lights may be active
After coding
- Test all door functions: locks, windows, mirrors
- Verify DCM status in live data
- Clear any remaining fault codes
- Confirm normal vehicle operation
