Porsche TDI Injectors Coding
Supported coding features by PoCOM diagnostic tool https://www.obdtester.com/pocom
Diesel injector IMA coding is supported on all currently supported Bosch EDC systems. 7-digit injector code has to be coded for each injector. PoCOM allows you to view currently coded injector IMA codes. For V8 TDi engines which are using dual master/slave ECUs you must program injectors in both ECUs (each stores 4 injector IMA codes for cylinders it controls).
What it does
- Codes and programs the diesel fuel injectors in the engine control unit (ECU)
- Ensures precise fuel delivery and combustion
- Synchronizes injector parameters for optimal engine performance and emissions
When it is required
- After injector replacement
- After ECU replacement or software update
- When injector-related fault codes are present
- After major engine repairs affecting fuel system
Conditions that must be met
- Vehicle stationary
- Ignition ON
- Engine off or per manufacturer instructions
- Stable battery voltage
- Diagnostic tool connected
- Correct injectors installed
What happens during coding
- Injector individual correction values are stored in the ECU
- Communication between ECU and injectors is verified
- Injection timing and quantity are adapted
- Fault codes are cleared if present
If coding is not performed
- Poor engine performance or rough running
- Increased fuel consumption or emissions
- Fault codes or warning lights may remain
- Potential engine damage over time
After coding
- Verify injector parameters in live data
- Perform test drive to confirm smooth engine operation
- Check for fault codes and clear if necessary
- Ensure emissions and performance are within specification
