Renault/Nissan Reset Adaptation EGR Valve
Supported coding features by RenCOM diagnostic tool https://www.obdtester.com/rencom
What it does
- Resets learned adaptation values of the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve
- Prepares the system for new calibration and correct position learning
- Ensures proper exhaust gas flow and emissions control
When it is required
- After EGR valve replacement or cleaning
- After ECU replacement or software update
- When EGR-related fault codes are present
- After mechanical repair affecting EGR operation
Conditions that must be met
- Vehicle stationary
- Ignition ON (engine OFF unless specified)
- Stable battery voltage
- Diagnostic tool connected
- No unresolved critical engine faults
What happens during reset
- Stored EGR adaptation values are erased
- ECU prepares to relearn valve positions
- Fault codes related to previous adaptations are cleared
If reset is not performed
- EGR may not operate correctly
- Rough idle, poor performance, or increased emissions
- Fault codes or warning lights may remain
After reset
- Perform EGR valve programming or adaptation procedure
- Verify EGR position and operation in live data
- Clear any remaining fault codes
- Perform test drive to confirm normal engine and emissions behavior
